Betting on a good time for Warwick's pacers

HARNESS RACING: Fresh off the back of news of the continued support of Garrard's, Warwick's once-a-year harness meet has received a further boost, with UBET fielding odds on the six-race program.

Darling Downs Harness Racing Club president Anthony Collins said it was tremendous to have betting coverage for the December 9 event.

"It's a huge coup having UBET coverage for our day,” Collins said.

"The meeting is the only stand-alone grass-track harness meeting in Queensland annually and has gained a strong following.

"This will only serve to enhance it. This gives punters and the general public the opportunity to be a part of the day if they aren't attending.

"Both fixed odds and parimutuel will be on offer to punters.

"There's a lot of interest in this meeting from far and wide, so it's a real positive.”

Collins said the meeting would be streamed online for the first time.

"The live stream has been set up with PSP video,” he said.

"Tony Barletta and his family take care of vision in the region, they're big supporters of the club,

"It's significant because it creates the opportunity for everyone to be involved that is interested in the day.

"It's the next best thing to having Sky Channel coverage and it creates the opportunity for everyone to be involved.

"Ben Hall, the vice-president of the club and an aspiring caller, will be doing mounting yard coverage for the day.

"This is unprecedented and is the first time to myknowledge anyone hasdone something like this.”
