Beware of Centrelink scammers

ELDERLY residents are being warned of one or more scammers doing the rounds of Warwick posing as an officer from Centrelink.

The Daily News received information this morning of at least one 80 year old lady who answered the door to an individual claiming to be from Centrelink and asking to see paperwork relating to her aged pension.

The lady sensibly closed the door on the male person and called the police to inform them of the incident.

Residents are reminded to check the identity of any person doorknocking in the area offering to provide services or claiming to be from a government department or a business.

Report all suspicious behaviour to the Warwick Police on 4660 4444.
