CRICKET: Max's XI batsman John Cleary passed 50 in his five innings of the Condamine Sports Club Warwick Australia Day Cricket Carnival to win the player of the carnival award.

He scored 90, 66, 124, 60 and 81 for a tally of 421 runs.

Jeb Jerome from Marbucks scored 198 runs from five matches and took seven wickets for 85 to win the all rounder of the carnival award.

There was one game tie in the 47th annual carnival.

With semi spots up for grabs, Mitch Siebenhausen hit a four off the last ball of a game at Allora on Saturday to secure a draw with SBH XI.

In one of the best recoveries in the carnival, the police team Hugh's XI were 5-25 in a semi on Sunday at Slade Park against Bears/Small's XI before Jimmy Doyle and Morgan Bourke added a partnership of 65 to help take the score to 112.
