Big names in Rose City for headspace event

HEADSPACE Southern Downs will host a couple of Aussie rock stars and a football great today - all in a day's work really.

Grinspoon frontman Phil Jamieson, Silverchair guitarist Chris Joannou and former Parramatta Eels player Nathan Hindmarsh will roll into the Rose City today in between Big Day Out appearances.

The trio is teaming up with Big Day Out CEO and founder Adam Zammit for the Rock N Ride for headspace and mental health.

The initiative is designed to engage regional young people in the communities and expose them to support options.

They are travelling from yesterday's Big Day Out Festival on the Gold Coast and are making their way to the Adelaide Big Day Out Festival.

Warwick headspace team leader Sophia McLucas said people would be given the chance to meet the guys and have autographs signed from 9am today.

headspace is Australia's national youth mental health foundation.
