‘Big red sleigh’ to spread some cheer

THE Warwick Lions Big Red Sleigh will be well noticed in the CBD in the next few weeks leading to Christmas.

There will be 10 lucky winners for the 10 prizes to be drawn on December 20.

The 1st prize consists of all the items inside the sleigh and then nine other winners follow the main draw.

You may see Lions members in green shirts Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays - so keep a look out and buy your tickets.

Lions Club president Jeff Ferguson said this year the organising of the Lions Christmas Raffle has to be acknowledged.

"The good work of Lions Jenny Rainbird and Lion Heather Shillings who went around 63 Warwick businesses asking for donations, who mostly did not hesitate and has given generously," Mr Ferguson said.

"For that The Lions Club Warwick thanks them and of course also to the Warwick community and public in general for their kind support for our good Lions work for the community in need.

"We serve" is our motto, for that Lions donations goes back 100% to the community in need.

Warwick Lions have many projects going to be completed, most of all we are committed to our local community. Secondly we work in partnership with our District Q1, Multiple District 201 and then International Lions.

President Jeff Ferguson and all members of the Lions Club of Warwick would like to thank the CBD businesses who donated all prizes, the Southern Downs Regional Council for allowing us places to sell the raffle tickets and the businesses who let us sell tickets in front of their premises.

All that is most appreciated and we wish all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for 2015.
