Rain this afternoon will be patchy at best
UPDATE: STAND by for the chance of an afternoon shower or storm today but don't stop any fodder purchase just yet.
The storms will be patchy and at best 20mm is the prediction for those under the storm path.
Some primary producers are still badly in need of rain and the chance of 5mm to 20mm in a few isolated areas won't see them making any rash farm decisions today.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Mark Trenorden said mid morning there was nothing on the radar.
"Storms should develop from the early afternoons onwards, it will be much the same tomorrow with a shower and thunderstorm," he said.
As for temperatures, the word is to take some extra water to work on Tuesday.
Today the expected maximum is 32 degrees, 34 tomorrow, 35 on Tuesday and then 34, 30 and 27 leading up to the weekend which will be music to the ears of those hoping for cooler weather.
The best falls in the Warwick area to 9am today were 15mm at Bony Mountain and 13mm at Pratten.
Most of the area had 4-8mm.
The best falls within a two-hour radius were 82mm at Palen Creek and 46mm at Maroon Dam.
EARLIER: IT is a fine morning in Warwick after patchy rain over the past two days.
Predictions of heavy rain and general flooding have not eventuated.
The forecast for today and tomorrow is a slight chance of a storm and at 5.30am there were already storm clouds building in the west.
They have been some isolated heavy falls in the Warwick area.
In Warwick there was 13mm at the racecourse to 9am Saturday but 44mm to the east at Yangan.
The Warwick Races went ahead yesterday with the track rated at heavy 10 for race 1 and then re-classified as heavy 8 for races 2 and 3.
A short sharp storm hit the course at 3.20pm and the final race was abandoned.
Cricket was cancelled mid-afternoon in Warwick but the weather allowed a full game to be played further west at Inglewood where Carter Bilbrough scored a century for Wheatvale.
The biggest joy for the locals at the races was a win by trainer Mick Hemmings with Trust No One in Race 1.
The official Warwick recording east of the town was 4mm from 9am yesterday to this morning and 42mm in the past six days.
There was .2mm at Stanthorpe from 9am yesterday to make 41mm for the six days. At Millmerran, there was no rain yesterday and 34mm for the six days.
On the border at Texas, there was .2mm from 9am Saturday and 37mm for the week.
