Biggest fete yet planned at Warwick West
IT'S time to start getting ramped up for another Spring Spectacular Fete at Warwick West.
The fete, to be held on Friday, September 6, is already shaping up to be the biggest yet.
There will be a bumper crop of stalls, including lucky dips, chuc-a-choc, free the bird, show bags, putt putt and knock-ems.
P&C president Kerri Walters said it was a great evening out for families.
"It's always a lot of fun," she said.
"All of the money raised goes back into the school to help buy different things for the students."
Warwick West deputy principal Phil Higgins said he enjoyed the smiles the fete brought.
"You look around and every child has a massive smile plastered on their face," he said.
"The fete is often the first time kids can go off independently with their friends and enjoy rides.
"Because it's in the safe school environment everyone has a great time."
Mr Higgins said there would be a few new rides and stalls this year.
"I'm really excited about a few new stalls we will have, including Indian and Thai food," Mr Higgins said.
Student Brianna Gross said she looked forward to the fete each year.
"I love all the rides and getting to see the class stores," she said.
"Last year we had a pretend tattoo store and got to put stickers on everyone.
"The talent quest is one I'm really looking forward to again this year."
The fete will start at 2.30pm and wrap up at 8.30pm.
Throughout the evening there will be plenty of multi-draw raffles with fantastic prizes up for grabs including a voucher for 200 litres of fuel, a Galaxy TAB 2, Playstation 3, Canon photocopier, shopping vouchers and more.
The hot food stalls will be spread throughout the grounds with old favourites like hot chips, potato slinky, popcorn, snow cones and fairy floss.
