Biker dishes up dirt

AN OFF-duty officer copped some bad attitude from an illegal motorist after the policeman told him he did not have his badge on him.

Warwick man Peter Smith was spotted hooning on his dirt bike in the Bracker Rd area on April 13.

The Warwick Magistrates Court this week heard the 36-year-old was accelerating heavily and spinning his wheels.

Noticing Smith was not wearing a helmet and riding the bike illegally on the road, the officer approached Smith and questioned him on his actions.

Although he was initially co-operative and provided the officer with his name and address, Smith's attitude quickly changed.

Smith asked the officer to show him his badge and when the officer said he didn't have it, Smith told him "you can't do s*** then", before taking off.

Once back on duty, the officer conducted searches to find Smith, with checks revealing he was not licensed to ride motorbikes.

The vehicle was also uninsured and unregistered.

Smith was last week fined $800 over the incident.
