Bikes to roar through the region

THE hills around Killarney will come to life with the sound of motorbikes this weekend as the 16th Border Ranges Trail Ride is held.

Border Ranges Trail Ride president Woody Dunkley said they were expecting a large attendance if the weather is fine as other rides had been cancelled due to wet weather.

Mr Dunkley said this event as major fundraiser for the Killarney State School P&C Association and also benefits other community groups that help out over the two-day event.

Saturday's loop opens at noon with riders briefing at 11.30am with the loop closing at 2.30pm.

Sunday will see a longer loop which opens at 8am after riders briefing. Riders can do the loop as many times as they like.

Saturday night entertainment will be back in the rodeo arena where the crowd will enjoy the thrills and spills of the Enduro Cross.

Mr Dunkley thanks the landowners whose properties the ride goes through as without these private properties an event like this could not happen.
