Bikie gang organised crime trial to start

A LANDMARK trial against a NSW bikie gang accused of controlling organised crime on the state's Mid North Coast will begin in Sydney next week.

Almost every member of Coffs Harbour's Lone Wolf bikie chapter will be tried in the District Court for participating in a criminal group and related drug charges.

The DPP is expected to rely heavily on phone taps and the evidence of expert witnesses to link 12 members to a series of high-profile crimes.

A courtroom at the Downing Centre has been booked for 60 days.

Jury selection will begin on Monday.
