THE first round of artists for the 2013 East Coast Blues and Roots Festival will be announced tomorrow amid huge anticipation given event director Peter Noble's promise that it is "red hot, sizzling and full of surprises".

In fact, organisers said the artist line-up announcement had been brought forward because of the "extraordinary" headliners for the event to be staged outside Byron Bay at Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm from Thursday, March 28 to Monday, April 1.

Mr Noble reckons he's truly outdone himself for the 2013 festival, which is a big call given legendary acts such as Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, ZZ Top, Crosby, Stills and Nash, and Jethro Tull have previously played the festival.

"The artists who have confirmed their appearances have surpassed my wildest dreams - almost everyone who we have offered to come has said yes," Mr Noble gushed.

Tomorrow's announcement will include 15 headliners, up and coming artists and festival favourites.

But Mr Noble has warned that ticket prices will increase as soon as the first artists are announced, "due to the magnitude of talent performing at Bluesfest 2013."

And there will be further price increases with each of the three additional artist announcements to be made over coming weeks.

"Please understand that we simply cannot bring you the great artists without raising the prices," he warned.

A five-day pass is currently $405.
