Blundell sings for Katter
STANTHORPE crooner James Blundell is such a fan of Katter's Australian Party that he wrote a song about it.
Blundell revealed the tune for the first time at the party's inaugural conference, telling the audience of his affection for the group.
"There's three words on the board and I love them all," he said.
"Katter - he's a good man, honest, and they're hard to find. Party - that's always fun. The big one (Australian) - that's it.
"We live in the greatest nation on the face of the Earth and I don't like seeing it watered down."
Australian Party state leader Aidan McLindon said it was a coup for them to have Blundell on board.
"He is such a passionate performer and a proud Queenslander, so it was no surprise to see him captivate the audience with his take on what needs to happen in this election," Mr McLindon said.
"The song he wrote and performed describes us perfectly. We are no slick unit of politicians here to preach to you," he said.
Mr McLindon said Blundell aptly summed it up after his performance.
"He put down his guitar and told the applauding and cheering crowd - 'we're all in this together'," he said.
