BOM admit Warwick temp probably felt colder due to windchill

THERE is still a possiblity of snow in the higher areas on the Granite Belt and around Tenterfield.

Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Kimba Wong said the temperature at Applethorpe was down to 1.6 degress on Sunday morning.

"It was minus 1.4 degrees at Dalby and four degrees in Warwick,” she said.

"It probably felt colder in Warwick due to the windchill. Frosts are possible under four degrees if the wind drops off.”

Ms Wong said there was a high chance of frosts on the Granite Belt and Southern Darling Downs on Monday and Tuesday.

"There is the possibility of snow around midnight Sunday in higher areas of the Granite Belt like around Girraween National Park,” she said.

"Showers are forecast and are more likely as sleet or snow.”

The chances of snow on Sunday night are greater in areas above 1000m.
