Bomb squad responds to package left on ground near courts

QUEENSLAND Police's bomb squad are still reviewing a "suspicious package" found outside the Brisbane District Court after arriving at the court two hours ago.

No streets have been blocked while the Explosives Ordinance Response Team confirm what is in the item located on a walkway.

A Queensland Police media spokesperson said they did not believe the item was dangerous and it could be as innocent as someone leaving a package on the ground.

The spokesperson said there had been no direct bomb threats.
