Books for all ages

THIS week is the perfect time to nurture your child’s inner bookworm and inspire a love of reading, with Book Week getting under way yesterday.

Schools and daycare centres will be immersing themselves in celebrations for the rest of the week, with plays, dress-up days and of course, books, books, books.

Nothing stimulates a child’s imagination more than a good book and whether they favour cowboys, spacemen, princesses, robots or dinosaurs, there are countless books to appeal to every child.

ABC Westside pre-schoolers spent yesterday morning creating costumes to replicate two characters children’s books would not be the same without – knights and fairies.

Book Week aims to promote the fun of reading among youngsters and this year’s theme is One World, Many Stories.
