Man tells court boss made him drive unlicensed
A MAN has blamed a bad boss for a traffic offence that has resulted in him losing his licence for three years.
Stephen Thomas Howie pleaded guilty in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court to driving while his licence was disqualified.
The court heard Howie was charged on April 10, after he lost his licence 12 months prior for two years.
He said his employer told him he would be fired if he didn't take a load of rubbish to the dump and he only ignored the court order because he was in fear for his job.
Howie said the next day, his boss again demanded he drive the work car. Howie quit and found another job.
Magistrate Graham Hillan said it was up to Howie to make sure he didn't drive. Mr Hillan ordered a $1500 fine plus the three-year licence disqualification.
