Bowlers dominate in reserve grade major semi final

CRICKET: Luke Cullen shone like a beacon as Allora secured the first spot in the Warwick reserve-grade cricket grand final in a fortnight.

Batting first at Slade Park in the major semi final, Inglewood was dismissed for 101 with Cullen taking 4-8 off five overs for Allora.

He was well supported by Stewart Henderson who took 3-29 off six overs and Sam Bryson 2-20 off seven overs.

Jeremy Ralph made 18 and Troy Callaghan 16 not out. In fact five batsmen reached double figures while there were four ducks.

Allora scored 5-105 to win with 16 overs to spare.

After hitting a 43 for Assumption College in a win on Thursday, Cooper Tate-Roche hit 31 for Allora after again opening the batting.

Gavan Scheiwe is the perfect player for chasing a target around 100 and was predictably there at the end 33 not out.

Troy Callaghan took 3-25 off four overs and Jamien Smith 2-24 off eight overs.

Inglewood will now play Railway Hotel Rascals in the preliminary final this weekend.

A grade semis are on today at Slade Park and Mayhew Oval.
