Boy found after night in forest

A 10-YEAR-OLD boy missing at Cambroon was located safe and well by search crews around 12.25am this morning.

A land and air search was conducted at Cambroon, in the Booloumba camp area, on walking tracks and bush land known as the Gold Mine and Cascades.

The boy, along with four other children and two women had been walking in the area when he became lost around 5pm Wednesday.

Police, including the dog squad, State Emergency Service personnel and Rescue 500 conducted ground and aerial searches.

The boy was rescued by an SES crew who spotted him sitting down on a walking track known as the upper or top track.

Despite the freezing temperatures, with a recording at midnight of around zero degrees, the boy was unharmed, except for being cold, wet and tired.
