Boys in pink for breast cancer

THE Collegians football field was a flurry of yellow and pink Saturday as the club celebrated their annual charity game.

Under-16s co-captain Ben Gross said each year the club chose a new charity to raise funds for.

“This year we’re giving money to Cancer Council,” Ben said.

Collegians president Glen Williamson said it was important for club to allocate one day a year to raise money for charity.

“We’ve done it for a fair few years now,” he said.

“This year we are hoping to raise $1500.

“All our 13 and 14-year-old age groups will wear yellow socks, and our 16-year-old age group will wear a full pink kit.”

Mr Williamson said the club raised more than $1500.
