Breakfast show Sunrise to get a makeover

SEVEN'S breakfast show Sunrise is getting a makeover.

Fans of David Koch and Samantha Armytage don't need to worry, though, as it doesn't involve a change to the presenting team.

The morning news program's Martin Place studios will get a full remodel, according to executive producer Michael Pell.

The show has had the same set since 2010.

"You might see a new set in the near future," Pell told APN this morning on set.

"In the next couple of months you might see an evolution of the sunrise brand. It's a strong brand; it's been No 1 for more than 10 years now but we've got to keep evolving, the challenge for us is always how do we outdo what we've already done?

"Which is why I think people loved last week so much. Part of the five countries in five days was can they do it?"

Expect the colour orange to remain a fixture, but "everything" will change according to Pell.

"I think the name Sunrise lends itself to an orange colour," he said.

"I'm not one to change for change's sake but you have to still move with the times.

"There might be a few more surprises to come in the next couple of months.

"Everything will change; we're due for it. You know at home after a few years you feel like you need a bit of a renovation?

"We're constantly evolving and our aesthetics need to move with that.

"The core's still there; that heart, that family that people look to will never change. That's who we are."
