A CROWD of more than 80 local ladies laughed, cried and smiled as they were wowed by the inspirational stories of prominent women at the Warwick Golf Club.

The Women of Warwick gathered for a Heartbeat-themed breakfast yesterday morning, with a line-up of strong guest speakers who shared their stories of success.

Former Warwick Hospital director of nursing Megan O'Shannessy had the crowd in fits of laughter and tears as she shared her journey of balancing a career as a single mother of two.

"The desire to be successful and under control can be at your detriment," she said.

"I had a great job - I just wish I had been more relaxed."

There was not a dry eye in the room as Ms O'Shannessy, a director of the Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service, spoke about her regrets in raising her sons and the tragic death of her mother.

Founding member of WoW Shannon Aspinall, who runs a book-keeping and accountancy business, entertained the crowd of lovely ladies with her Five Minutes of Wisdom speech centring on an understanding of instant and delayed gratification as they relate to finances, with a sweet twist.

WoW MC Julia Keogh said the event was a wonderful way of connecting and praised the fantastic guest speakers.

"Attendees commented that they found the morning 'inspirational', and to 'not be afraid of taking chances'.

Others commented that they found the morning enjoyable, listening to an 'honest portrayal of a working mother's life'," she said,

Mrs Keogh was thrilled to announce the Southern Downs Industry Education Association (SDIEA) as the major sponsor of WoW during 2015.
