Clown terrorises Darling Downs town

UPDATE: Warwick police are urging residents to keep the pranks between friends following a second sighting of a clown in the Rose City.

Senior Sergeant Lisa Self said Warwick officers had received another report of the clown in the Warwick area overnight and they would be monitoring the situation closely.

"At any rate we're urging everyone not to scare each other in the street," Snr Sgt Self said.

"It's common sense but people think it's funny to prank each other, but it's more serious if they scare an old lady who has a heart attack."

Earlier: REPORTS are coming in of a clown causing havoc on McEvoy St, Warwick.

A Warwick resident posted on Facebook that she was chased 500m by a man dressed as a clown.

"It left me shaking," she wrote.

"I couldn't imagine how much it would scare a child."

The incident occurred just before 1.30pm and police have been notified.
