Two vehicles collide on Bruce Hwy

UPDATE 10.26am: A wet road contributed to a head-on collision at The Leap, on the Bruce Hwy, on Monday morning.

Acting Sergeant Victor Scott confirmed the wet weather had played a part in the crash.

He said the two vehicles had been approaching from opposite directions on the highway when one had lost control in the wet weather and gone into the other lane.

Acting Sgt Scott said both drivers had been taken to Mackay Base Hospital with minor injuries.

The collision blocked one lane but it has since been cleared.

INITIAL: PARAMEDICS are on the scene of a head on collision at The Leap on Monday morning.

The head on collision happened about 9.40am.

According to a Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman, all occupants in the vehicles managed to get out of their vehicles before the paramedics arrived.
