Bridal dreams brought to life at Abbey of the Roses expo
WITH many hours spent imagining and planning the ideal wedding day, brides-to-be can rest a little easier with the Abbey of the Roses hosting a bridal expo on Sunday, January 10.
Co-owner Sonia Hunt said the heritage-listed venue would host 20 industry professionals in what they hoped would be a one-stop wedding shop.
"There will be the usual suppliers you would expect at a wedding expo as well as a few others like fireworks and lolly bar suppliers," she said.
"Each supplier will have an expo special on offer."
Ms Hunt said the long room and chapel would host suppliers of classic cars and music through to wedding planners and travel consultants.
The bursary room will feature 40 pre-loved wedding dresses at $120 each in various sizes, styles and hues of white, with lucky door prizes with over $2000 in value to be given away.
There will be food available in the veranda room and, weather permitting, games in the gardens.
"It's not just about the venue, it's ideal for all aspects of planning a wedding," Ms Hunt said.
"It's great to be able to go to bridal expo in the local area and get a feel for suppliers and what they can offer."
The Abbey of the Roses alone has hosted about 100 weddings over the past five years, with Ms Hunt saying her best advice was to plan early.
"Enjoy the process of planning - it should be a fun time," she said.
"Don't leave it until the last minute because that's when it gets stressful.
"You are only going to do it once, so have what you want, where you want."
Guests can register for free until tonight, with registration being $10 per person from then on.
