Bridge clean backs up traffic
IF you were one of the unlucky residents on the road along Albion Street and Alexandra Drive yesterday the interesting device on the bridge was giving it a spring clean.
Traffic was backed up both sides of the O.O. Madsen Bridge for most of the day yesterday with several trucks and cars backed up halfway down Albion Street.
A Queensland Transport and Main Roads spokeswoman said the Under Bridge Inspection Unit on the bridge yesterday was cleaning components on the bridge as a part of routine engineering inspections.
In other roadworks news the works carried out at the Eight Mile intersection this week were routine maintenance works, which were completed yesterday.
