Bridge work delays ahead so factor in extra travel time
THE O.O Madsen Bridge will be under stop-go conditions starting August 5.
The Department of Transport and Main Roads will perform flood reconstruction night work between 6pm and 6am.
The works will be on the southern approach where asphalt repairs will be carried out from the Alice St intersection.
The work will require lane closures, traffic controllers and speed restrictions.
Traffic flow will be restricted to one lane through the works area. Motorists may experience delays of up to 15 minutes and should factor in additional travel time to their journey.
Wide loads will be restricted to a ground width of 3.2m and clearance height of 1.5m.
These works will be carried out at night, when there are fewer vehicles on the road.
The road will reopen to two lanes at reduced speed when possible outside those hours.
Some noise may be generated during the works, however, the project team does not anticipate excessive volumes of noise.
RoadTek will be carrying out these pavement repair works on behalf of TMR.
The work is expected to finish on Thursday, August 8.
