Warwick business digs deep for Leukaemia Foundation
OVER the next three days, Warwick motorists can help Bridgestone Service Centre dig deep for blood cancer patients.
The business is again donating $2 from every tyre sold between today and Friday to the Leukaemia Foundation.
The tyre offer will run as part of Bridgestone's fundraising for this year's World's Greatest Shave.
With the support of communities across Australia, the tyre offer raised over $40,000 for the World's Greatest Shave in 2015 and helped fund patient transport vehicles, research and patient accommodation.
Owner of Bridgestone Service Centre Warwick Trevor Malone said the seemingly small donations would go a long way to caring for the well-being of blood cancer patients and their families.
"We're extremely proud to be raising funds as part of the World's Greatest Shave this year and hope the local community will rally around us in support of the Leukaemia Foundation's vital work," Mr Malone said.
"If you're in need of some new tyres there's really no better time to make a purchase than on March 9, 10 or 11 when you can simultaneously help raise funds for a great cause.
"We're aiming to surpass last year's fund-raising total and with a little assistance from the local community, I'm confident we'll achieve that."
A number of Bridgestone stores have also chosen to be brave and shave - pulling out their hair clippers and firing up their barbecues in March to host shave events and sausage sizzles.
The World's Greatest Shave tyre offer is valid for purchases of all passenger, SUV and light truck tyres.
This year also marks a 30-year partnership between the Leukaemia Foundation and Bridgestone, who has assisted with patient transport vehicles, funding research, patient accommodation.
