Bronze for Simeon in Bathurst nationals

WARWICK orienteer Simeon Burrill placed third in the M20E class at the Australian Sprint Championships at the Charles Sturt University at Bathurst on Saturday.

He was third in a field of 39 so is the Weekend Warrior. Burrill has already competed for Australia in three world championships.

On Sunday, he was fifth in the Australian Middle Distance Championships at Hill End, north west of Bathurst.

Jaiden Fidge who has a long association with the Bullecourt Boulder Bounders Orienteering Club, was 9th in the M16A class at the sprint championships and the 7th Australian to finish.

Fidge was 11th in the middle distance event amongst 40 other competitors.

He will be competing in the Australian Schools Individual Championships in the Roseberg State Forest, east of Cowra, on Tuesday and the sprint championships in Bathurst Wednesday and the relay championships on Thursday.
