Brothers to feature in the Mitchell Shield final
CRICKET: Two sets of brothers will play for Warwick in the Mitchell Shield final against Lockyer at Mulgowie at 9.30am Sunday.
The game was originally set down for last Sunday but was washed out after heavy rain in the Lockyer Valley.
Brothers Lachlan and Jacob Gross will play along with two of the Bourke brothers, Pat and Tom.
Pat will be the Warwick wicketkeeper and could be used by captain Jason Steketee as one of the opening batsmen.
Lachlan has scored 121 and 32 in Davis Shield in the past fortnight and will be a trump card with the bat in one of the top three positions.
Will Gordon is an option to open so Lachlan may bat at first drop.
In Condamine Cup club cricket on Saturday, the unbeaten Maryvale will play Wheatvale at Slade Park in the A-grade major semi final with Rosewool Redbacks and Warwick Hotel Colts to play on the Queens Park turf. The reserve-grade semi between fifth and sixth-placed teams Allora and Sovereign will be at Slade Park on Sunday.
Mitchell Shield: Jason Steketee, Carter Bilbrough, Tom Bourke, Michael Bourke, Pat Bourke, Will Gordon, Jacob Gross, Lachlan Gross, Mitch Darton, Andrew McConnell, Jack Breen
Club points/positions: Maryvale 63, Wheatvale 52, Redbacks 43.5, Colts 43.5, Allora 40, Sovereign 36, Rascals 36.
