Brown steps down after 13 years

WARWICK Credit Union chief executive officer John Brown has announced his retirement after more than a decade at the helm of the Rose City’s home-grown finance institution.

Board chairman Alan Olsen made the announcement in a statement issued early this morning, in which he thanked Mr Brown for his success in expanding the credit union over the last 13 years.

Mr Olsen confirmed Mr Brown had recently been on sick leave and the board had formally received his notice of resignation at a meeting held last night.

Mr Olsen said interim CEO Lewis von Stieglitz was "already in place", having served as second-in-charge of Warwick Credit Union for the past three years.
