Bull ride during Friday night program at Allora Show

RODEO: Caboolture bull rider Matt Carlo will be one of the riders to watch at the Allora Show Rodeo tomorrow night.

Carlo, who won at the Cowboys rodeo in October, is one of 25 entries in the open bull ride which will be judged by retired professional cowboys Scott Glasby and Wayne Hart.

Haden rider Matt Boland has won a bull ride at the Australian Rodeo Heritage Centre and will compete along with Toowoomba rider Matt Gakowski who won the 2016 Wattles Rodeo bull ride.

The stock contractors for the open bulls are Robert Bunn and Ryan Allen who will both travel from Roma.

As has been the case at past Allora rodeos, the winner will receive a return trip to America.

The rodeo will start at 7.30pm and is the 10th organised by former Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (USA) saddle bronc state champion Scott Keogh.

The rodeo will also include a bareback pony ride, junior steer ride and poddy ride.

Nominations have closed for the open bull ride but entries in all other events are on the night at the Allora Show Society office before 6.30pm. Keogh will provide the ponies which have come from all over Australia. Admission through show admission.
