Bulls are not shy of rain

RAIN won't make any difference to bucking bulls or mules - that's the word from Ray Bunch Machinery Cowboys Rodeo organiser Scott Keogh.

"Bucking stock don't worry about rain, but rain will make the sand surface harder," he said.

"We already have laid sand on the arena at Father Ranger Oval for tonight's rodeo."

Keogh has been watching the weather all week.

He said stock contractors were already on the way from Roma and Upper Horton to Warwick for tonight's rodeo.

"We can have a fair bit of rain and still run a rodeo," he said.

Riders are coming from as far as Roma and many will go on to Goondiwindi on Saturday for a show rodeo.

Steers have been provided by Chic Roche from Tannymorel and poddies by Anthony Collins from Willowvale.

The poddy ride is for riders 12 years and under.

Admission is $15 adults, $10 for concession and $5 for children.
