Bunnings staff paint city purple

AS PURPLE fever continues to sweep over the Rose City, the staff at Bunnings Warehouse decided to do their bit to get in the spirit.

Staff donned purple shirts, shoes and wigs as they got into the fun of the Relay for Life's Paint the Town Purple promotion yesterday.

Headed by organiser Debby Stevens, the purple Bunnings crew busily spent the morning decorating the store and raising money with their raffle.

"We think it's really important to be a part of the community and to support the relay," Mrs Stevens said.

"We had our purple dress-up day - we love to have fun here."

Bunnings Warehouse has been throwing its support behind the Relay for Life this year, with a number of teams holding barbecues and fundraisers at the store.

"We have a Relay for Life team called the Hardware Hippies representing Bunnings," Mrs Stevens said.

"The store is done up in purple and we've ordered in a special range of purple flowers."

Paint the Town Purple continues to gain momentum in the Rose City, with a number of businesses decorating their shop fronts in the Relay for Life colours.

The Relay for Life promotion will run until the weekend, with the culminating activities in the Rose City Shoppingworld from 10.30am.

SEE the Relay for Life page in Saturday's Daily News for a profile on the Hardware Hippies.
