Burglars make off with huge haul from Hay Point home

BURGLARS have smashed a large hole into the glass panel of a sliding door to gain entry into a home in Mccarthy Street, Hay Point.

Police say the burglary has happened some time between May 9 and yesterday.

A large amount of items have been stolen from the home:

  •  A large antique aboriginal art painting of a fresh water crocodile in lily pads (1 metre by .6 metre)
  •  Evakool fridge/freezer
  •  Samsung television
  •  Samsung keyboard, Toshiba laptop, Samsung tablet
  •  Male ring, white gold
  •  Female white gold ring, blue and black diamond contained within a pink jewellery bag
  •  Female white gold ring, blue and black diamond contained within a small pink jewellery bag
  •  Two Ripcurl wristwatches
  •  Husqvarna chainsaw
  •  Lincoln welding equipment
  •  Giant mountain bike, black and white
  •  Olympus camera
  •  EOS digital camera

"No burglar can walk away from a job carrying all of these items over their shoulder," a police spokesman said.

"If any resident in the area witnessed any suspicious activity linked to a vehicle in Mccarthy Street - we encourage you to ring the Sarina Police Station (not a 24 hour police station) on 4964 8444."
