Bushfire burning near Spring Creek Rd

CREWS are battling a bushfire burning in inaccessible land north of Spring Creek Rd at The Head.

The fire was first reported yesterday afternoon, 1.5km from the intersection of Spring Creek Rd and Brett Rd.

A spokeswoman from the QFES said the fire is "burning safely" and appears to be under control at this time.

Two crews returned to the scene this morning and report the fire poses no threat to property at this time.

It is likely an extension of the Swanfels and Emu Vale fires burning through bushland over the last month, according to Killarney Rural Fire Brigade first officer Wayne Peterson.

"It's going to keep going up there until it rains or runs out of places to burn through," Mr Peterson said.

"There isn't a lot you can do up in the range when you can't access the fire."
