Business blooms with new identity

COUNTRY Lane is undergoing an expansion, with the florist separating from the rest of the business.

Modern Country Flowers opened yesterday, in the shop space beside and will join with Country Lane.

Trudy Turner said she decided to expand to allow the florist business to grow.

"(I'm expanding) to have a florist in town and for it to have its own shop,” she said.

Mrs Turner said she wanted to separate the two sides of her business.

"We've always been a florist and we've always been here, but with the clothing, the flowers have sort of been pushed to the back, so we want to bring them out again,” she said.

"It has been lost, a lot of people don't know that we're here.”

After six months of planning, Mrs Turner said she is looking forward to seeing the shop finally happen.

"I'm very relieved,” she said.

Modern Country Flowers will offer a range of flowers, and indoor plants, with petals, hampers and bouquets available for order.

"We can send flowers wherever,” Mrs Turner said.

They can also organise wedding and event flowers.

Prices will vary depending on customer requirements.

"We can do as little as you want or as large as you want,” Mrs Turner said.

Modern Country Flowers had its grand opening yesterday and will be open 9am-5pm.

Country Lane and Modern Country Flowers will both be open through the week and on Saturday for any last-minute Christmas gift ideas.
