Warwick businesses chip in for charity golf day

DRESS up in your favourite Halloween costume and help raise money for charity this Saturday at the Warwick Golf Club.

The annual Big W Charity Golf Day will celebrate 10 years of raising money for the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation Queensland.

Every year the charity day raises about $5000 with prizes donated by local businesses.

Big W Warwick Distribution Centre manager Molly Seibel said she expected more than a hundred golfers and non-golfers to take part.

"It's a big fun day for everyone," Mrs Seibel said.

"Every year we get a great response from the community and local businesses who get behind us and donate prizes, food and drinks for the day.

"You don't even have to play to be involved.

"Just turn up and have a great day on the green."

To celebrate Halloween, golfers are encouraged to turn up in their best costumes with prizes for the best dressed.

Take part in the major raffle for a chance to win a television, pushbike and vacuum or try your luck in the mystery envelope with prizes ranging from $5-$200 in value.

Entry costs $15 for members or $25 for non-members with a percentage donated to charity.

The first shotgun start of the four-ball ambrose will begin at 7am, with a second at noon.

Take a break at the halfway house with food, drinks and a sausage sizzle on all day.

Get a team together and register by Friday through the Warwick Pro Shop on 4661 3664.
