Calling all Christians

IT'S a day to mark on the calendar.

World Day of Prayer 2013 will be held on Friday, March 1.

This year the Warwick worship place will be the Uniting Church.

The service has been prepared by the World Day of Prayer committee in France.

This is a tradition that dates back to the 10th century, bringing together Christians for a day of worship and prayer in more than 170 countries.

Pastor Jean Reid said it was a special, universal event.

"We are very honoured to host the event in our church this year," Mrs Reid said.

"It's an amazing event that over 170 countries participate in on the same day.

"Everyone is welcome to come along to the church."

The theme this year for the day is 'I was a stranger and you welcomed me'.

"There will be a morning tea here from 9.15am," Mrs Reid said.

"The service will officially start at 10am."
