Calling all women to muster up for squash action

SQUASH: Warwick women's social squash player and group president Melinda Walker knows all too well that juggling motherhood and working leaves little time for a healthy work-life balance.

She also knows that her Thursday nights at the St Mary's Squash Courts provide her with a weekly opportunity to balance things out.

The 2018 Season One line 3 winner looks forward to heading to the courts and having a fun game of squash to help keep her fitness up and her stress levels down, while catching up with great company.

"Thursday night squash provides a great chance for me to switch off from the pressures of daily life,” Walker said.

"The ladies who play are great fun, and the game itself is a fantastic stress relief.

"We have players of varying ages and levels, who return each season for the companionship and fun.

"Quite a few start with no game experience, but stay on for seasons because they love the social side.

"They also improve their game and fitness levels each week.”

The pre-season muster will be held on Thursday, July 19, from 6pm at the St Mary's Squash Courts in Guy St.

New players are welcome, and are encouraged to head to the courts and have a try.

Racquets are available.

The season will start on July 26 and continue until early December.

There are also a number of social activities held throughout the season, such as attending race meets or weekend games on different courts that extend the social element of the competition.

All women interested in playing can contact Walker on 0427 110 878 or secretary Jill Hume on 0414 303 905, or just head down to the muster.
