Campdraft to aid Ashleigh's Miss Rodeo Australia bid

A DAY of Sunday action at the Warwick Showgrounds started with a campdraft to raise funds for 2016 Warwick Rodeo Queen Ashleigh Grant who this month will represent Warwick in the Miss Rodeo Australia judging.

Old Koreelah rider Andrew Peterson won the campdraft on his Australian Stock Horse gelding Anson Althorpe. He scored 86 in the first round and 87 in the final to win by one point from Jim Daley, of Goomburra, on Holdens Contrast. Errol Cooper and his niece Megan Batterham shared third on their horses on 171.

Tyler Aspinall won a third successive ladies steer ride at the Steele's Bakery and Cafe New Year's Eve Rodeo at the Warwick Showgrounds which started at 4pm Sunday. She capped a great day with a second place in the junior barrel race.

Lachlan Sullivan won the saddle bronc ride and Nathan Sherlock was victorious in the bullock ride.

There were no times in the junior steer ride or poddy rides.
