Can you provide winter woolies?
WINTER is fast approaching and Warwick's Red Cross is looking for some local super heroes to help those in need beat the cold.
By simply donating your old jumpers or last season's jackets to your local shop, you'll be supporting the everyday work of the Red Cross.
All proceeds from the winter apparel sold will go directly to helping those in need, from disaster relief to providing a meal for the homeless.
Warwick's Red Cross Op shop manager Margaret Carden said all donations for the needy would be greatly appreciated.
"We really need blankets for people who don't have any and we need jackets and beanies for travellers who don't realise how cold it can get here," she said.
What the Red Cross stores really need is cash.
That's why the volunteers at Warwick's store encouraged people to stop in and check out their winter collection before going and checking out something new.
Margaret said the store often received donations from local shops, including Crossroads, Millers, Rockmans, Black Pepper, and R.M. Williams.
But the store still needs furniture.
"We have clothing for men, women and children," Margaret said.
Red Cross stores often send clothing all over Australia to ensure that the colder places, or those most in need of donations, receive the appropriate winter woollies.
