CAPTURED: Warwick ballerina finds space to stretch her wings

WARWICK ballerina Madeline Lawson has finally found the space to stretch her wings, and photographer Storm Lahiff was there to capture the moment in motion.

Since recently opening her dance studio in Warwick, Miss Lawson has enjoyed the freedom to finally move in her own space.

The joy she has discovered through her new endeavour was perfectly framed when Mrs Lahiff snapped her dancing in the new studio on the corner of Braemar and Douglas streets.

"I've never had a proper photo shoot so it was really special Storm took the time to reach out and do for me,” Miss Lawson said.

"She came in after my last class for the day and she just captured the studio beautifully... it changes the whole look of the studio.

"I think Storm has really summed it up in her captions... it captures the movements really well , the strength the beauty.”

Mrs Lahiff said the photo shoot took on a life of its own.

"I actually had a particular image in mind however Maddie showed me so much more that we let the shoot organically flow to allow the magic to happen and create some beautiful images.”

Miss Lawson said her dance school 'Miss Maddie's Dance School' was going better than she ever could have hoped when she started her first classes in January this year.

"The first week was a little bit daunting for everyone but I have noticed now by week 6 they are really coming out of their shell and getting involved,” she said.

"I am so happy to finally see it up and running and come together so well. It only makes me wonder why i didn't do it any sooner.”

Miss Lawson has taken on 50 students from around the Warwick region and has even had to put on another class to cater for all the eager 'twinkle toes'.

"They're totally new students and have all this confidence and they're eager to get in and learn... it's really nice to see that growth at such a short amount of time.”
