Car break-in prompts warnings from police

THIEVES broke in to an unlocked vehicle in Canning St early yesterday morning, prompting warnings from police for residents to lock their cars at night.
The car was parked outside the owners house when an unknown person entered the vehicle just after midnight on Thursday.
The thief stole money and electrical items from the car.
Police said the incident was a reminder to the public to lock their cars and utes, even when parked at home.
Investigations into the offence are ongoing.
