Car club president shares advice ahead of show and shine

DANNY Wust has been a self-confessed Holden man all his life.

As the proud owner of a bronze Daytona Monaro and a HT Premier, the South Burnett Car Club president knows his way around classic vehicles.

"It was always my dream to own one,” Mr Wust said.

Having entered many show and shine events over the years, the passionate car lover offered some simple advice for those considering taking part in this weekend's competition.

"Clean it,” he said.

"A day before or a weekend before, get them out, check the tyre pressure, the water and oil.

"Make sure it is running right, detail and clean it.”

Mr Wust said life had thrown a few speed bumps his way which had kept his passion at bay.

"I have been through a couple of divorces,” he said.

"They have cost me a fair bit of money.”

This weekend's show and shine will be held in conjunction with the Murgon Rail Trail Festival on Saturday.

The festival includes a half marathon, team relays, inflatable obstacle course, live entertainment and more.

It will be held at the Murgon Showgrounds starting from 6am for the team relays and race day entries.

For more information, visit the Murgon Rail Trail Festival website.
