Car show takes step back to '63
ROCK ’n’ roll enthusiasts Mark and Glenda Hoskins love the 50s era so much they built a vehicle as a homage to the period.
Mr Hoskins said the 1946 King Woody replica had been built two years ago.
The mini caravan drew many an admiring gaze at Sunday’s Back to 63 Classic Car Show and Shine.
“There are none of these available anymore.
"We had to build it from a picture,” Mr Hoskins said.
Held at the North Ipswich Reserve, the event is put on yearly by Just Rock Ipswich, a group dedicated to classic cars and 50s-style dancing.
Just Rock member John Strybos proudly showed off his gleaming 1965 Ford Zephyr Mk 3.
The Brassall resident bought the classic car 12 years ago.
He said the 18th annual event gave people the opportunity to take in more then 200 classic cars, mainly from the 50s and 60s.
