CareFlight given big cheque for contributions to community

THEY fly over us day in, day out.

They risk their lives to save ours, and they do it all out of their own goodwill.

Which is why CareFlight was chosen as the recipient of all money raised at the Warwick Big W Distribution Centre's open day, held in May.

DC HR manager Ian Jamieson said it felt good to hand over a $2500 cheque.

"For people in the bush, it is an essential service, so we wanted to choose a charity that will help the actual people who work here," Mr Jamieson said.

CareFlight relationships manager Suzie Washington said it was donations like this, that kept choppers in the air and people alive.

"Close to 50% of funds come from the community, so this is fantastic," Ms Washington said.

"A big thank you to Big W DC for their support."
