It’s time for action declares Valeri

CARL Valeri has declared that it was time for action, revealing that he understood fans' frustrations at Melbourne Victory's inconsistencies.

Victory travels to Brisbane Roar on Sunday minus the injured Mark Milligan (hamstring) and in the midst of a barren run of form and results.

Grand finalists last season, Melbourne iscurrently sitting seventh on the A-League ladder with just 10 points and 13 goals from 10 games.

"We've been saying we have to improve, but our actions now need to speak,'' Valeri said.

"When things aren't going well everything comes under scrutiny and rightly so.

"There's a lot of things we can improve on and we will. But all our energies have to be focused on Brisbane. We'll keep working hard to come up with solutions.

"Fans would be frustrated, just like we are. We're working hard to change that. We understand how important our fans are, we love our fans.

"We have to change that. We can and we will, but we have to focus all our energies on Sunday.

"We're always under pressure at Victory, that's part of being here. We're expected to win."

Valeri said coach Kevin Muscat had the players' backing, and said the team's experience was a bonus under the circumstances.

"We have a strong belief in each other and what Musky's created here and it's a great environment. It's a great group, regardless of what people are saying. Our actions need to show that on the park,'' he said.

"There's a lot of experience. Some people see that as a negative, being an older player, but at these times its definitely a positive when you can rely on your brothers around you.

"Only we can change what's happening.

"We've been working ever so hard at it, now it's time for actions this week."
