Carlee Beattie nabs gold in Doha

WARWICK athlete Carlee Beattie has won her first international gold medal.

After three silver medals at world championships and Paralympics in the long jump, she won gold early this morning (Australian time) in Doha, Qatar, in the International Paralympics Committee World Championships.

On Thursday, her father Rob Beattie told the Daily News his daughter was happy with how she was hitting the board in the long jump.

The prediction was right as she won with a leap of 5.76m in the T47 classification and now is a great chance to gold at next year's Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro.
