Carlton Brewery hunts for Australia's best 150 bar yarns

A BEER-maker is hunting for the best Aussie pub tales as it celebrates 150 years of bottling.

For the Carlton Draught's "amber jubilee", the beer-makers are calling out for the nation's top 150 bar yarns.

Carlton's Andrew Meldrum said the stories can be big or small but they better be good.

"It might be as simple as a kangaroo who hops in once in a while to have a pot at the bar," he said.

"Or the time that David Bowie filmed Let's Dance in the public bar.

"Whatever the story, we want to hear it."

The top chinwaggers will score $150 to spend at their favourite pub and a Carlton commemorative plaque.

Entries close on May 18.
