Tribunal gives controversial bottle shop green light

QCAT was called in to decide whether a controversial bottle shop should go ahead at 180 Wood St, Warwick.

The dispute started after the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation approved the bottle shop to be run by Glenhaven Holdings, which operated the Warwick Hotel.

However, objector Graham Hyde - whose wife was the Palace Hotel licensee - told QCAT the shop should not go ahead for multiple reasons.

In rejecting Mr Hyde's application on January 17, 2012, QCAT "concluded that the objections do not raise any issue which would warrant refusal of the application if all necessary requirements are satisfied".
